Cervical Epidural Injection
To help relieve pain, medication is injected into the epidural space. This space surrounds the dura within the spinal cord. Your doctor may also do a nerve block. During this procedure, medication is injected near a specific nerve root (the part of the nerve that leaves the spinal canal). A nerve block can help your doctor find out which nerve or nerves are the source of your pain

Trigger Point Injection
A trigger point is a tight, painful "knot" of muscle fiber. It can form where a muscle is strained or injured. The knot can sometimes be felt under the skin. A trigger point is very tender to the touch. Pain may also spread to the other parts of the affected muscle. Muscles around the knees, shoulder blades, or other bones are prone to trigger points. This is because these muscles are more prone to be injured.

Electromyography & Nerve Conduction Studies
Electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies (NCS) are tests that measure muscle and nerve function. In most cases, both tests are performed. NCS is most often done first. During NCS, mild electrical currents are applied to the skin to see how quickly impulses travel between nerves. EMG uses fine needles placed under the skin to assess muscle function by measuring the electrical activity in the muscles. No elecrical currents are applied to the needles.

Spinal Cord Stimulation
Pain messages travel over nerve pathways to the spine. The spine carries the messages to the brain. Constant pain messages can cause long-term pain that is hard to treat. This is known as chronic pain. Spinal cord stimulation is one treatment that can help chronic pain. A small electric power source sends signals to your spinal cord. These signals keep the chronic pain messages from being sent to your brain. Instead, you may feel tingling from the electrical signals.
